Yesterday I wrote a happy birthday post to my cat. I don’t think I mentioned that it was my husband’s birthday too. It was also our anniversary. A whole 29 years. Yup, we were married back before computers and cell phones. Unless you count those first cell phones that people used to lug around in a giant suitcase.
The other day I was having a conversation with someone over inappropriate things people ask or say. Because I have 4 children with a big age difference between the them, 28, 23, 14 & 10, I’ve totally been asked (more than once) if they all have the same father. My stock answers vary. Usually it’s “We think so” or “The DNA test results aren’t back yet”. Seriously?? Then I get the question “Second marriage?” People are so nosy and will really ask just about anything.
Last night I dreamt I was eating bacon. Nice.
I almost missed the season premiere of Grimm. Surprise twist by premiering it in August instead of September NBC. Good thing my DVR was ready. Plus, it was moved from Friday night to Monday night. Makes you wonder what they were thinking.
I can’t believe summer is almost over. I feel like we haven’t done too many fun summer things. We still need to have a fire in the backyard and roast marshmallows, more swimming, take the kids to the park, head down to the canal and get ice cream, and spend some more time outside. What summer things do you still want to do?
I think it’s funny you wrote a birthday post to your cat and didn’t mention your anniversary (Happy Anniversary!) or your hubby’s birthday (Happy Birthday to your hubby!) Sounds like something I would totally do.
I love your answers to the people questioning the age difference between your kids – hysterical!

I had to do a double-take when I saw that Grimm premiered last night, too – and equally confused by the ultra early premiere plus being moved to Monday night…that’s almost a WTH post!
Luckily my DVR was ready – plus I’ll probably end up watching it on Hulu tomorrow when Princess Nagger isn’t watching over my shoulder. 
Hard to believe summer is almost over! I want to spend time out in the backyard if this infernal heat and humidity would ever dissipate.

I would be the one to write a birthday ode to my cat while ignoring my husband. I can’t believe people would actually ask if your kids have the same father. That just seems like a rude question and not anyone’s business unless you choose to share it. We just watched the Grimm premiere last night.
