Macy’s Culinary Council American Food Tour

Macy’s Culinary Council  is a national culinary authority comprising some of the nation’s leading culinary masters. Launched in 2003, MCC’s team of distinguished chefs serves to inspire the way Macy’s customers shop, cook and eat at home. The chefs are both ambassadors and instructors, providing expert culinary advice and leading cooking demonstrations at Macy’s stores, with the aim of teaching customers how to cook and shop like a master chef.

Macy’s will take to the highways and back roads of America for a national food tour making its way across the country, serving up the best of America’s cuisine created by icons of the Macy’s Culinary Council and featuring hot dogs and ice cream.

Last night they stopped at The Marketplace Mall in Rochester, NY to treat everyone to the delicious food the Macy’s Culinary Council Chef’s had cooked up.

We couldn’t wait to try it!

Chef Marc Forgione’s Sausage & Peppers Pork & Scallion Hot Dog with Pickled Peppers, Fried Onion & Spicy Mayo was delicious! The recipe is on the Macy’s Culinary Council website. I’ll definitely be making the spicy mayo at home.  I can think of all kinds of different ways to use it and add a kick to our usual meals.

Dessert was also yummy. The Bitter Orange ice cream dipped in chocolate by Chef Johnny Iuzzini was amazing. The mix of the bitter orange with the chocolate was perfect and just the right note after the spicy sandwich.

It was such a fun event and from the line of people waiting for seconds, I’d say everyone enjoyed the great food!
