How Did I Get This Old?
Not that I’m that old, but still! I just colored my hair a few weeks ago. I’ve colored my hair since I was in high school. I used to do it because I like to change my hair color all the time. I tell my husband he’s lucky, he gets variety. Even though he’s only been married to me, he’s been able to tell people his wife has blonde, brown and/or red hair. I’ve had it all. I’m blonde at the moment, but the thing I noticed the other day is my hair has sooo much grey in it! When did this happen, and why didn’t the hair color 2 weeks ago kill them? I stand there in the mirror staring, tweezers in hand, plucking each and every one of them out. I said to my husband once when he asked me what I was doing, “I have sooo many grey hairs in the front of my hair!” To which he replied, “you have a lot in the back too, you just can’t see them”. Thanks. He is 6 years older than me, and he doesn’t have any grey hairs. He looks younger than me. I started looking at old pictures of myself from when I was probably 20, and guess what, I look so young! Not surprising, but there were no dark circles under my eyes, and my face looked tight and smooth. Now, I have dark circles and I swear my face is puffy and droopy! Painting a pretty picture here aren’t I? I’m really not that old, but when people try to guess my age, they always guess 3-5 years older than what I am! WUWT??? I’ve come to realize that I now put on make up to look younger! When I was younger, I’d put on makeup to look older! I should go on that show “10 Years Younger.” The only problem is when you have to stand in that see through booth and have people pick you apart. I couldn’t do that, I’d end up sticking my tongue out or making an obscene gesture at them. I’d be the first contestant that got kicked off the show for attacking the people on the street! Oh well, I guess I just need to accept the fact that I’m getting old, I mean what’s the alternative? Look like Joan Rivers or have those humongous Goldie Hawn lips, no thanks I find that much scarier!
