It's Time to Get Your Random On

Stacy

If it’s Tuesday this must be Random Tuesday Thoughts. It used to be brought to you by Keely at The Un-Mom but she’s taking a hiatus. Okay, it’s been a really long hiatus but Random Tuesdays still rock on with help from Stacy .

The 4 days I was all alone sped by in the blink of an eye. I didn’t do anything super exciting, I read 2 books, went to a baby shower with my pharmacy friends, attempted to sit out by the pool but the dogs decided that all three of them barking at each other was a great idea, and made strawberry shortcake. I made baking powder biscuits from scratch and whipped up some cream. When I was younger I thought they were called bacon powder biscuits and always wondered why they didn’t taste like bacon.

I’ve decided to change my puppy’s name from Perry to Mr. Barky McBarkypants. It’s a little longer but a lot more accurate, except for the pants part.

My husband came home from Massachusetts with a cooler full of meat. It’s not like they don’t have meat in New York, but they don’t have the number one meat for summer grilling….steak tips. How do they not have steak tips? He brought home, bourbon beef tips, bbq beef tips, teriyaki tips and, as he called them, naked tips. We should be set for a bit in the grilling department. Do you steak tips where you live or is it only a New England thing? One guess what we’re having for dinner tonight. I’m hungry already. I think it calls for some corn on the cob and baked potato salad.

I was a little worried about my husband and kids driving all that way without me. I should’ve been worried about me. On Friday, they day they left, I was driving home on my lunch hour and just around the corner from my house some idiot pulled out of a side street right in front of me. Of course there was a car in the next lane waiting to pull into that same side street. So I slammed on my brakes and the horn and waited for the inevitable crash. I think my car pulled one of those shrinking spells like in Harry Potter because my giant Dodge Durango squeaked by both cars without a scratch. Either it was the shrinking spell or I’m an awesome driver.
