Mom Cold vs. Man Cold
It’s hard to come up with a post when you feel horrible. I’ve got a cold and I’m not happy about it. I haven’t had a cold in a couple of years so I’m pretty grumpy about the whole thing. Apparently, according to my husband, I was snoring last night. Actually, he said “You were snoring so loud you were shaking the bed.” Seriously? How is that even possible? He snores every freakin’ night. I don’t think he should complain if I only snore when I’m sick.
This morning when he left for work he was careful to only give me a hug because he didn’t want to get sick. Believe me, I don’t want him to get sick either because then this cold will turn into a man cold. You all know about man colds don’t you? A man cold is the absolute worst cold. Nobody on the face of this planet, living or dead, has ever been as sick. So I definitely don’t want him to get a man cold.
Which of course means I have a mom cold. A mom cold means you’re sick but still have to wait on everyone, do the dishes, laundry, make dinner, help with homework and still go to work because you need to save your sick days for when your children are sick. You may be allowed to take a nap as long as nobody needs food cooked, drinks poured, dinner, clean laundry or help with homework. You may also be able to go to bed 10 minutes earlier than usual. And just because you feel like crap, you still have never been or ever will be as sick as a man with a man cold.
