Oh No You Didn’t! WTH?!

Wednesdays are great for Wordless and Wordful posts, but we decided to go a different route and create our own Wednesday fun. We figured what the hell. That’s how we started What The Hell Wednesday. Who are we kidding? That’s pretty much how we decide on almost everything. Yesterday was J-Man’s last day of school. Guess who forgot to change her alarm to summer time instead of school time? WTH?? How did I neglect to do that?? Not going to let that happen again. That extra hour of sleep is priceless!

This weekend is Sissy’s birthday party. Of course there is a serious teenage drama unfolding, one that is guaranteed to cause buckets of teenage angst. Some other girl is having a party on the same day, at the same time. WTH??!! Plus, there are a couple girls that can’t make it because one will be on vacation and the other has a concussion. (Likely story.)  When I’m talking about it with Sissy I’m all “Don’t worry, it will still be fun. We’ll do something special if only a few kids can make it.” But inside I’m all like “Oh no you didn’t schedule a party the same time as my daughter!!” I hate to see Sissy upset. I wouldn’t be a teenager again for anything!!

Yesterday was the 5th grade picnic. They walk to a park near the school and play for most of the day. Somehow J-Man ended up at the park without his lunchbox. WTH?? I would think they would’ve said something like “Make sure you have your lunch with you if you brought lunch from home.” Ya, well no. So my husband got there and found a very grumpy, thirsty and hungry little boy. I called the school and one of the ladies in the office was kind enough to go to his classroom and look in his backpack and found his lunchbox. I picked up his lunchbox and brought it to the park. After something to eat and drink he was feeling much better and went off to play. Not sure what happened that he didn’t bring it, but crisis was averted.

Last night it hit me that J-Man will be in middle school in the fall and  I looked at my husband and said “We’ll never have a child in elementary school again. We’ve been doing this school thing for the past 24 years.” WTH?? J-man graduates in 2020. Only 7 more years to go! WTH was I thinking??
