What was your worst experience in the ER?

Stacy

Almost 2 years ago me, my husband, and both boys had to take a trip to the ER right before Christmas.  It was a bit of Carbon Monoxide poisoning.  My husband went by ambulance, and I drove myself and the boys.  When we arrived I registered all 4 of us!  I asked if they had a buy 2 get 2 free deal….but they didn’t.  After we were in rooms getting plenty of oxygen treatment I got to wheel my oxygen tank between my husband’s room, and the kids room, back and forth, back and forth.  They finally said we could all be in with my husband.  They had him hooked up to a bunch of stuff including a heart monitor.  The boys were super hyped up at this time and were talking a mile a minute.  And then we noticed something…every time the kids would talk my husbands heart rate went up!  It was an on the spot stress tester!!  All in all it was a very, very expensive night at the ER!

I’m going with my latest ER visit which was a little over a week ago. It was my second visit in a week and I was in excruciating pain. I expected a long wait before they finally called me back, but after that I still waited another 4 hours before they even hooked up an IV, never mind pain meds. It was another hour after that. All in all, I’m pretty sick of the ER and I’m hoping this stupid issue finally goes away and I’ll feel better.
