My jury duty is up. I was forced to go in on Friday afternoon. Really, who calls a jury on Friday afternoon in the summer? I couldn’t serve for the 2 to\u00a03 weeks they needed so they sent me home. That’s it, all done. Of course on the way home I took a wrong turn and ended up on the\u00a0bad side of the city. I never drive in the city so I was\u00a0super lost and I\u00a0didn’t dare stop and ask for directions. I drove by one of those makeshift memorials, where there are stuffed animals and balloons and stuff and drove faster. I didn’t want to know what happened, but someone is always getting shot in the city, it’s really bad.<\/p>\n

It’s kind of embarassing, but I’m just going to come out and say it. Both of our male dogs pee like girls. There’s none of that macho leg lifting, no leaving their scent as a warning to other dogs. I thought having one dog\u00a0\u00a0that\u00a0isn’t a leg lifter\u00a0was strange, but somehow I ended up with 2 girly boy dogs. I don’t know if I believe in reincarnation, but if I did I’d think they must have really pissed off karma at some point. It would be bad enough coming back as a dog, but a male dog that pees like a girl? That would be some bad karma there.<\/p>\n

We’re having trouble with bees on our deck by the pool. We tried to have a family dinner out there the other night and were swarmed by\u00a0a bunch of\u00a0killer bees. Both the kids ran back in to the house and my husband starting passing me all the food to get it into the house. So we had a cold family dinner in the house without the swarm of killer bees. You can tell me they weren’t killer bees, but you weren’t there. The next day my husband\u00a0bought a bee\/wasp trap. He hung it outside and we waited for all the bees to find it and get trapped inside.\u00a0It’s been several days and so far we have one damn bee in that freakin’ trap. I think he got in, couldn’t get out and then before he died he sent out some kind of warning to the other killer bees to stay away.<\/p>\n

Elle got us hooked on “The Great American Road Race”.\u00a0 It’s not a bad show since “The Amazing Race” isn’t on yet.\u00a0 The premise of the show is a whole family traveling in an R.V. competing in different challenges.\u00a0 The thing is, there is a family on that show that I cannot stand!!\u00a0 The Mother and Father are soooo annoying!\u00a0\u00a0They have strong NY accents, and they just yell at each other constantly!\u00a0 \u00a0I feel bad for the kids, I’m sure they will get teased a little when they go back to school because of their parents!<\/p>\n

One thing about t.v. that really bugs me is the commercials.\u00a0 Not regular commercials, but commercials for horror movies that are shown during “family shows”.\u00a0 There was one tonight while we were watching the show I just mentioned.\u00a0 Plus the kids like watching Discovery Channel shows like “Dirty Jobs”, “Deadliest Catch”, “Mythbusters” and “Time Warp”.\u00a0 But every time we watch one of those shows together, even if it’s in the middle of the day, they will show gross, scary, graphic previews for horror movies!\u00a0 Why channel’s think it’s okay to show those things during family programming is beyond me!<\/p>\n

My almost 9 year old son is not<\/em> a fan of the dentist.\u00a0 Truthfully neither am I!\u00a0 But the other day I had to bring the boys to the dentist for a cleaning.\u00a0 Before the appointment I told him to brush his teeth really good<\/strong>, to which he replied, “why?”<\/strong>\u00a0 I said, “because the dentist will know how well you brushed”,<\/em> and he said, “what? is he psychic or something?”<\/strong>\u00a0 “NO, he’s going to look in your mouth!!!”\u00a0 <\/em>I really never know what is going to come out of his mouth.<\/p>\n

Speaking of what comes out of his mouth, I cannot take him to the grocery store with me anymore.\u00a0 He’s awful!!\u00a0 I’m not nearly as bad as he is!\u00a0 Every other person that goes by he has a comment about, “Whoa Mom did you smell that lady?\u00a0 She smells like the dentist office”, “Ew, did you see that guy, he shouldn’t be wearing those shorts?”, “what’s with the weird old guy?”<\/em>\u00a0 These are all real quotes from my almost 9 year old.\u00a0 I don’t know where he gets it….okay he does<\/em> get it from me, but it must be in his D.N.A. because I don’t make comments about people in front of him….or them for that matter….No Offense!<\/p>\n
