You know what I’m talking about. Like the time I sent in neon blue frosted cupcakes instead of the healthy “blue” food that was requested. In my defense, nobody told me it was supposed to be healthy and those kids ate all those damn cupcakes. Or like the time Sissy needed something that started with the letter “D” for nursery school and I send her in with an empty Diet Coke bottle I found on the floor of my mini-van.

The point is we’ve all had those moments. So I’m creating “Way To Go Wednesday” to spotlight all those great parenting moments that will probably mean my children will be in therapy for a long, long time. I had to work in the morning, but was home by lunchtime. The ac was going in the house and the kids were mesmerized by video games. I quickly got on my bathing suit and snuck right past the video game playing zombies. I got in the pool and floated around out there for about 20 minutes before my husband also came sneaking out. So there we were, all alone, floating around in the pool, enjoying the summer day while we let the kids rot their brains in the house. Sissy did finally notice where we were and came out asking if she could come swimming. I yelled back “In half an hour!” Sure enough in exactly a half-hour she was out there with us, but it was sheer heaven while it lasted!

Stacy

Last year our oldest son “T” started Middle School. Our youngest “B” is still in Elementary School. Well, one hectic morning I sent in B’s agenda in T’s backpack. His agenda is where his homework goes, where he writes down his assignments and where the teacher can write notes to you. I wrote a note to the teacher explaining my mistake, and she was fine about it, but asked that he bring it back the next day. T forgot it at school, and I didn’t bother driving all the way down to the school to get it. The next day after that B came home and said, “Mom could you please go get my agenda or else my teacher will make me stay in for recess”

Don’t forget to enter our giveaway!
