Well it’s Tuesday night, and I was stuck sitting in the Middle School gym being overcome by perfume and the aroma of what people cooked for dinner tonight.\u00a0 For the record, I smell of meatloaf<\/em>.\u00a0 The reason for all this is Open House.\u00a0 Of course this is the last place that I want to spend my evening.\u00a0 Figures, we had a night off from football and I still had to be somewhere!\u00a0 So I feel like a terrible parent because I hate going to these things!\u00a0 And what am I doing?\u00a0 Paying attention to what the Principal is saying?\u00a0 Uh, no, I’m picking apart the people sitting here, and writing material for the blog.\u00a0 And guess what, the Superintendent of schools just sat down right in front of me…great, now how am I going to write?\u00a0 Can you say super bad Mother writing notes when she’s suppose to be paying attention?\u00a0 I guess not much has changed since when I was in school!\u00a0 There’s definitely some interesting looking parents here, and teachers too.\u00a0 When did it become common for teachers to look like they’re 18?\u00a0 When I went to school all the teachers were wicked old, smelled of ben-gay, and had already had my older brother and sister.\u00a0 And my brother is 14 years older than me!\u00a0 By the time I got to the teachers, they were already so sick of children!\u00a0 These teachers look like they were buying Pokemon cards like 4 years ago, oh wait, maybe they were.\u00a0 Speaking of parents, my favorite type of parent that shows up at these things are the “Bratz” Moms.\u00a0 You know who they are, they’re single, they go tanning, have on way<\/em> too much makeup and not enough clothes.\u00a0 Some have a tramp stamp hanging out too (no offense).<\/em>\u00a0 The PTA was there too, trying to recruit more people.\u00a0 No I was Secretary for the Elementary School PTO one year, so I am all for helping out and volunteering.\u00a0 But to join the PTA it costs $5.00, now that’s not a ton of money, but I don’t think I need to pay you<\/strong> to volunteer my<\/strong> time!\u00a0 What are you smoking??\u00a0 I think I could find something else to spend my $5.00 on.\u00a0 “T”‘s teacher seemed very nice, and young, the parent’s kind of annoyed me though.\u00a0 Surprising huh?\u00a0 They were passing around the sign up form for Parent Teacher Conferences, and you would of thought they were passing around a bucket of money!\u00a0 I thought there was going to be a fight between two Mother’s over the clipboard.\u00a0 “T”‘s Math Teacher was interesting, young, hip looking, make up and hair perfect, but she starts out with, “Hi, I’m the mean teacher.”<\/em>\u00a0 She went on to tell us how mean she really is, and if your child says she’s mean, well then they’re right.\u00a0 Okay, at least she knows she’s mean.\u00a0 She also mentioned how important attendance is…ya well guess what, “T” was home yesterday with a cold, and today a teacher sent him to the nurse because of his symptoms.\u00a0 No he doesn’t have the Swine Flu, just a cold, but apparently if you seem sick, you get sent home, I was only at work for 45 mins today before I got the call!\u00a0 So, 6 days into school and he’s already sick, misses one day, and gets sent home on the other.\u00a0 And guess what????\u00a0 Tomorrow is a half a day!\u00a0 Can you say tiny paycheck…again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
