{"id":399,"date":"2008-12-27T16:17:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-27T20:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bluemonkeybutt.com\/home\/?p=399"},"modified":"2008-12-27T16:17:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-27T20:17:00","slug":"what-evil-genius-invented-moon-sand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bluemonkeybutt.com\/home\/2008\/12\/27\/what-evil-genius-invented-moon-sand\/","title":{"rendered":"What Evil Genius Invented &quot;MOON SAND?&quot;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/bluemonkeybutt.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/001.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-400\" title=\"001\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluemonkeybutt.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/001-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a>That is my question of the day.\u00a0 I looked online to answer this question, and couldn&#8217;t find the exact answer, other than it was made in Sweden and packaged in China.\u00a0 I&#8217;m thinking the person who invented moon sand was first off, a <strong>guy<\/strong>, and second, <strong>did not have kids<\/strong>.\u00a0 Because if they did have kids they would <strong>never<\/strong> think of developing such a toy!\u00a0 And if they still did, their wife would probably leave them!\u00a0 This is a set my son got for Christmas\u00a0from a relative.\u00a0 It is supposed to be good because you can keep all your moon sand, and play with it in the case.\u00a0 There are a few problems to this, if you don&#8217;t keep the plastic bags, (which are not resealable) all your sand gets mixed together.\u00a0 Plus moon sand <strong><em>NEVER <\/em><\/strong>stays in the tray.\u00a0 It gets everywhere!\u00a0 It&#8217;s messy, and I hate it!\u00a0 My boys on the other hand love it!\u00a0 They also choose to play with it right after I&#8217;ve finished vacuuming.\u00a0 WTH!\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/bluemonkeybutt.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/0011.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-401\" title=\"0011\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/bluemonkeybutt.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/0011-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a>Here is a picture of them playing with it.\u00a0 As you can see, there is moon sand on the table around the container.\u00a0 Here are the reasons why I hate moon sand, and if you haven&#8217;t already bought your kids some&#8230;..<strong>DON&#8217;T!<br \/>\n1<\/strong>.\u00a0 Moon Sand goes everywhere!\u00a0 And if you have tile or wood floors they will become extremely slippery!<br \/>\n<strong>2<\/strong>.\u00a0 It attaches to everything.\u00a0 The dog, your socks, your cat, your shoes!\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>3<\/strong>. Sand is meant to be played with outside, not inside.<br \/>\n<strong>4<\/strong>.\u00a0It states that it is Non-Toxic, but it should <strong>not<\/strong> be eaten or swallowed.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know why you would eat it, but there are paste eaters out there.<br \/>\n<strong>5<\/strong>. In the instructions in big letters it says<strong> &#8220;DO NOT <\/strong>allow soap or liquid soap to come into contact with the moon sand.&#8221;\u00a0 This makes me want to do it, just to see what <em>would<\/em> happen.<br \/>\n<strong>6<\/strong>. It also says <strong>&#8220;Wash hands after use<\/strong>&#8220;, ummm, doesn&#8217;t that contradict the whole <strong>#5<\/strong> of no soap coming in contact?\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>7<\/strong>. 10 minutes of play, 10 years of finding blue, green, and yellow sand everywhere.<br \/>\n<strong>8<\/strong>. There&#8217;s 10% less sand to play with after each use (this is both a good thing and a bad thing)!\u00a0 It&#8217;s where the 10% went that is the bad thing!<br \/>\n<strong>9<\/strong>. Sand fights (remember I have 2 boys ages 8 + 10)<br \/>\n<strong>10<\/strong>.
