Thousand Word Thursday~My Rock Collection
I bet you are all wondering why a 30 something year old woman would have a rock collection…..Well I only just started collecting rocks yesterday, and look how many I have so far! I put the tennis ball in the picture so you could see the size of my rocks. Pretty big aren’t they? And heavy!! You see, yesterday at 3pm the biggest boulder rock hit our picket fence out front and broke right through it. The small piece in the front broke off and hit the side of our house, breaking our vinyl siding. The other large rock was in front of the fence. Now today I came home from work and the medium rock was in the middle of our driveway. You may be thinking that someone is throwing rocks at our house, but in reality they are falling off of asphalt/construction trucks that are going up our road. We live close to an asphalt plant called Pike Industries, pretty big company here in NH, and lately we have had tons of trucks speeding up and down our road! I feel like we live on that road in Pet Cemetery. Luckily the State Police and the two towns have been monitoring the speed limits. The thing is if any of those rocks hit a person/child/car etc., it could cause some serious damage! We’re lucky none of those rocks went through our window into our house! I emailed Pike Industries about this, but have yet to hear from them. I’m ready to walk down there and show them my rock collection! But I’m not giving these babies up, nope, it’s evidence now!
