Random Tuesday Thoughts
Stacy
Tonight it hit me that my boys won’t be with me on Thanksgiving. I’m not a huge fan of Thanksgiving, well at least not being the one hosting it, but I like the idea of it if I don’t have to do all the work. I didn’t think it would bother me. Apparently it does.
I’ve realized that teenagers are stupider than I thought. At my part time seasonal job, someone called in and asked about their hours. She said, “I know I work 5 to 10 but I don’t know if it’s at night or in the morning.” She was told it was 5 to 10 pm. Her response, “is that morning or night?” She repeated, “pm”. Again, “is that morning or night?” Really?
Another girl was training me, and I asked her what her position was. She said, “I’m a stocker, but not like a bad stocker, y’know? Like the kind that puts stuff on shelves. But they are spelled the same so that’s confusing.” Wait, what? I joked and said, “Oh good, I was afraid for a second there.” To which she just stared at me. Then I said, “well they aren’t spelled the same. If you stalk someone, it’s s-t-a-l-k-e-r, if you put stuff on shelves it’s s-t-o-c-k-e-r.” She thought for a minute and replied, “okay the o one, not the a one.” Whew, glad she cleared that one up. Again, not so smart teenagers. Without autocorrect, they can’t spell anything.
Oh, and what is wrong with people today?? When did it become acceptable to go out shopping in your pajamas and slippers on a Saturday afternoon?? Can you not get dressed by that point? Are you insane? At least put on some yoga pants and sneakers so you look like you just left your Pilate’s class or something. Wearing fuzzy pants with bright cartoon characters on them with fur slippers just makes you look crazy!

Because one of our daughters is going to be away for Thanksgiving we celebrated on Sunday. I’m not sure what we’ll do on Thursday. Kinda sad, but I want to get my big grocery shopping done on that day. Wegmans is open and it will be pretty empty. I would have the whole store to myself. That’s definitely appealing.
The other day we were looking at the new Angry Birds Star Wars app for my iPad. I said to J-Man, “It’s $2.99” (I’m cheap, I like the free or $0.99 apps) His response? “Anything that epic is worth $2.99.” So yes, I bought it. It is pretty epic.
I was in a work meeting last week and I was so excited to be able to say “We’ve got binders full of cats.” It’s the little things people, the little things.
Don’t forget to join us for What The Hell Wednesday tomorrow!
If it’s Tuesday this must be Random Tuesday Thoughts. It used to be brought to you by Keely at The Un-Mom but she’s taking a hiatus. Okay, it’s been a really long hiatus but Random Tuesdays still rock on with help from Stacy.
