Random Tuesday Thoughts ~ Ouch!

If it’s Tuesday this must be, Random Tuesday Thoughts. It’s brought to you by Keely at The Un-Mom. She really knows how to rock Tuesdays so go and check her out and tell her the Blue Monkey Butt Sisters sent you!

I’ve been “in a rut” lately.  I’ve thought of really funny things to write about, but actually sitting down to the computer and writing them hasn’t been working for me.  Once I do I get sucked into Facebook  can’t really think of what I was going to write.

No one could believe how much I loved driving 7 and a half hours to Elle’s house a few weeks ago.  I liked it so much, I would love to drive cross country.  Not that that would happen, but still, what Mother wouldn’t love 7 and half hours ALL TO HERSELF???  I listened to whatever music I wanted to, sang as loud as I wanted to the music, stopped when I wanted to, ate when I wanted to, it was awesome!  No one asked me for anything, complained about anything, or argued with me.

I have never hidden the fact that I don’t like people.  Well, there is a type of person I REALLY don’t like…..the “too sick to come to work, but did anyways” coworker.  I’m sorry, I know that you need to work just as much as the rest of us, but when you are coughing, sneezing, oozing, and whining about how sick you are…..go home!!  You don’t need to infect everyone at the office!!  Because once that 1 sick coworker comes to work, it just travels around to everyone!

So I’m a little slow on the Tuesday Randomness. Whatev. I’ve been moving a lot slower since Sunday night when I tripped over my feet? loose slippers? puppy? I’m not sure. I am sure that I fell headfirst into the corner of our dresser and then scraped my arm so hard and fast that the friction melted the fleece on my shirt and then I fell on the floor. Yup, right on the floor, a week and a half after surgery. Then there was lots of screaming (me and the kids) and lots of blood (just me). Sissy ran downstairs to get help and when my husband got upstairs I heard him say “OMG! There’s still skin on the dresser!” So back to the hospital we went and after a blood test, ct-scan, stitches and a tetanus shot we were headed back home. Even though it was almost 2 days ago, I’m still stiff and sore, my insides aren’t thrilled about being jostled around so soon after surgery and I have a lovely bandage on my head. Plus I have a spectacular bruise on my upper arm. I’d take a picture of it, but I’m not that flexible, being so stiff and all. My wonderful husband did take a picture of my head pre-stitches. Don’t look if you’re squeamish. Oh, and no comments about the dark roots. I’ve had a rough few weeks. I’ll get to it eventually. Now I’m going to have a Y-shaped scar and possible dent in my forehead forever. Swell.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that I’ve fallen and gotten hurt while recuperating. In 2nd grade we went on a field trip to the Museum of Science in Boston. Incidentally, it was the one and only field trip that my mother ever chaperoned. During the field trip I sprained my ankle…..while walking. I ended up on crutches and being the graceful girl that I was and still am, I tripped over the crutches as I went into our bathroom, fell and hit my eye on the towel rack. So then I was the girl on crutches with a black eye. Sorry, no pictures of that.

If I can get my husband to take a picture of my arm I’ll post it tomorrow. Wow, ending Random Tuesday with a cliffhanger.

Don’t forget to join us for What The Hell Wednesday and photos of my bruised arm tomorrow!
