If it's Tuesday We Must be Random Again
If it’s Tuesday this must be Random Tuesday Thoughts. It used to be brought to you byKeely at The Un-Mom but she’s taking a hiatus. Okay, it’s been a really long hiatus but Random Tuesdays still rock on with help from Stacy .

Yesterday we had a meeting with J-Man’s teacher. It’s the same story, he doesn’t stay on task, he doodles, he isn’t paying attention and we have to constantly prompt him to get back to work. I know it’s all leading up to the ADD discussion. In fact, they did bring it up just before we left. Ugh! How do you get someone motivated about school when they think it’s boring? He just isn’t interested. I don’t think it’s a case of ADD as much as a case of him being bored with school. At least they didn’t ambush us this time with the principal, psychologist, OT teacher, and everyone else on the team. It’s going to be another long, long year.
We took J-Man trick or treating even though he stayed home sick from school yesterday and is probably staying home again today. He didn’t have a fever but wasn’t feeling his best. I just couldn’t make him stay home. It’s his favorite holiday next to Christmas. Just the other day he wondered why they have to go to school since Halloween is a big holiday.
Every year I make costumes for the kids. J-Man’s was actually from last year and just needed a few touch-ups and a redo on his helmet. Sissy wanted to be an angel which meant I had to make a dress. If you don’t know me, I’m the Anticraft. I hate crafts, scrapbooking, stamping, and sewing. So Halloween gets very stressful when I have to make costumes. Usually it’s the night before the Halloween parade when I’m sweating and swearing over the sewing machine and hot glue gun attempting to get everything done. A few days before the Halloween parade, I bought a sheer curtain panel for Sissy’s costume and after I opened it, I realized that it was too sheer and wasn’t going to cut it. One of my co-workers offered me some white sheets. She used to work at a nursing home and brought home some sheets they were throwing out. I was desperate so I said yes. I brought them home, bleached all the death cooties and lingering nursing home karma off and made them into a dress. Then I made another dress from the sheer panel to go over the death cootie, nursing home dress. I didn’t mention to Sissy where the sheets came from.
We’re so lucky that Sissy still wants to go trick or treating with us. Last night she mentioned that a lot of her friends were going out together but she wanted to go with us. I know her little brother will be sad when she stops going with us. We are in no way as fun as she is.
While we were trick or treating we did see a few of the super scary masks. There was a group of kids in front of us at one house and they were pretty creepy looking. I noticed as they came down the stairs towards us J-Man discreetly put his knight shield in front of his eyes so he wouldn’t see them. Shhhh…don’t tell him I told you.
We ended the evening by stopping at the crazy, over the top decorated mansion near our non-mansion. They put out tons of decorations for every single holiday. There was a maze in their front yard that took you all around the creepy decorations. It ended at their front door where they had hot chocolate, hot apple cider, brownies, cookies and candy bags. The kids love topping off the night there.
Don’t forget to join us for What The Hell Wednesday tomorrow!
