5 Things I Hated When I Was A Kid
The 5 things I hated when I was a kid, but really love now
Naps:
I hated napping! What kid doesn’t? Every kid knows that when you take a nap you’re missing out on all the cool fun stuff that everyone not napping is having. Now, napping is my favorite!! C’mon, admit it, you love napping too. The best nap is when you’re napping on a vacation day, then you’re getting paid to nap. Am I right??!! I like to run the dishwasher and washing machine during my naps. That way I feel productive and get to nap!
Folding laundry:
OMG! I hated to fold laundry! It was torture! Every load I folded seemed like an eternity. Now, I love folding laundry. I sit on my bed, turn on the TV, and fold. It still takes a long time to fold an entire load of laundry, but that just may be my super power.
Kids: Mom, I’m hungry!
Me: I’m folding laundry. You’ll have to wait! (slowly folding a towel while watching Supernatural)
Husband: When are we going grocery shopping?
Me: In a while, I’m folding laundry and I don’t want it to get wrinkled. (fast forwarding through the commercials to watch more Supernatural)
See, it can take a long time to fold one load of laundry. Don’t judge.
Beets:
I hated beets. Ewww, they’re dark red! Gross! They look like blood! Flash forward about 20 years and I discovered I love beets!! They’re like beet candy with butter. Mmmmmm., butter.
News:
When I was little, the news was just boring and sometimes scary. When they talked about armed guerillas I pictured gorillas with machine guns. Hmmm…. could be why I have such an aversion to monkeys and gorillas to this day. Now, I want to know what’s going on in our world, but it’s still scary.
Country music:
I hated country music! My mother would listen to WOKQ and it would drive me crazy. All those twangy and depressing songs. Soooo, what do I listen to now? Country music. My mother loves to remind me of this.
What did you hate as a kid but like or love now?
