My Pimped Out Ride
There it is, my car. My 1990 Chrysler New Yorker with 183,000+ miles on it. I got this car from my Dad and it was the perfect price…..FREE! I’ve had it for a lot of years now, and it has seen better days. You wouldn’t really know it from the picture, but it’s got tons of rust, which my husband got rid of by putting DUCT TAPE on top of it! Look its like magic, no more rust! Out of 4 I have 2 1/2 windows that go down, and the heat constantly blows. So, in the summer it’s like a sauna. You can lose 5 lbs on the way to work! The fabric on the ceiling has fallen down and usually sits on top of my head. We do have tacks in the ceiling at the moment, which is holding up about 60% of it. There is now a constant smell of gas/oil, but there are no leaks that we can find. It does however leak brake fluid pretty consistently. It sometimes falls out of gear, it is an automatic but it tends to stop shifting, usually in stop and go traffic. Elle has lived 7 hours away from me for about 8 years or so now, and I have never visited her because I know I won’t make it 3 hours away nevermind 7!
Every year when it’s time to get it inspected the left blinker stops working…which should start any time now. I will have my fingers crossed when I finally do bring it down to be inspected. I usually go about a month with a rejection sticker on, waiting to be pulled over because of it. I’m hoping maybe Chrysler will give me a new car to try out and blog about, since I’ve been such a loyal customer for all these years! Maybe I could give them mine since they don’t make them anymore and they can put it in their Chrysler museum. Then they can give me some new prototype hybrid/electric/water whatever car. 🙂 Until then I will be riding in my pimped out car.~Stacy
