Random Up!

Stacy

If it’s Tuesday this must be Random Tuesday Thoughts. It used to be brought to you by Keely at The Un-Mom but she’s taking a hiatus. Okay, it’s been a really long hiatus but Random Tuesdays still rock on with help from Stacy.

You’d think that writing whatever random thing pops into your head would be easy, but it’s not. Mostly because there are so many things I’m already thinking of, like housework that still needs to be done, did the plants get moved in case of a storm?, what will we have for dinner tomorrow night?, what will I wear to work tomorrow?, did I spend enough time with the kids today, and stuff like that. There’s no room for random stuff!

One week from today, I’ll be stressing and getting ready for Blogher 12 in NYC! I’ve never been to Blogher or NYC and I’ve never been on a girls only trip in pretty much ever! I did take one to Nebraska with my mother when the twins were born, but it was a horrible drive with all kinds of bad things that happened and we are lucky we made it home alive!

Another thing that’s keeping me up at night, do I drive my Dodge Durango to Connecticut to meet up with Anne and Stacy? or do I save money and take my husband’s much better on gas mileage Vibe? I really want to take the Durango and say gas mileage be damned! Really, I would love to say that. Plus, there is the added factor that I feel a lot safer in the Durango. Hmmmm… not sure when I’m going to make up my mind. Probably the day I leave. No sense rushing these things.

Only teenagers can go from happy to totally freaking out! Every time my almost 14 year old freaks out it reminds me of that cartoon, “Katie Kaboom” from the Animaniacs. It was about a teenage girl that would freak out about something small and turn into a monster. If you have a teenager, look it up on YouTube and you’ll know exactly what I mean.

I brought the boys to the beach the other night. It was hot and they wanted to cool off. We got to the beach and it felt like it was 60 degrees out. I sat there in Capri pants and a sweatshirt. The boys ran right into the water! They were the only ones in there besides the surfers who were wearing full wet suits! Which has made me come to the conclusion that when it comes to doing something fun, kids do not feel cold.

On the way home from the beach the boys started arguing. You know the kind of arguing that makes you want to just jump out of a moving vehicle at high speed? Ya that kind. I’m really starting to worry about the 14 hour road trip we have coming up. I think I need to invest in some really good earplugs, or some Benadryl…..
