Flashback Friday – Hip Flip
It’s the Flashback Friday Hip Flip edition.
Back when I was a kid, in the early 70’s, my parents would have the neighborhood parties down in our basement. I remember sneaking down the stairs and watching them and my friend’s parents until someone spotted me and be back upstairs.
One of the games they’d play was Hip Flip. It was even marketed as the “Swinging Game for Swinging People”. You can’t make this stuff up people.

Yes, this is a real game made by Parker Brothers in 1968. Check out those groovy clothes.

My parents had this game and below is an actual photo to prove it.

Go Mom and Dad! This is way harder than it looks.
I found the original Hip-Flip game on Ebay and couldn’t resist buying it. Apparently we aren’t really swinging people because we ended up laughing so hard we couldn’t even stand up.
If you want to try it, c’mon over, we can turn on the Hi-fi and play Hip Flip. Maybe we’ll even get the “real ding-dong bell” to ring.
