Back to School

The boys went back to school yesterday.  One started middle school, and the other started 3rd grade.  I know, I’m not old enough to have a son in middle school, but he is only in 5th grade, not 6th!  The first day went very well, both were excited and ready to go!  I now have to get up at the un-godly hour of 5:30 or 6 a.m. at the very latest.  Taylor (our oldest), has to be on the bus by 6:43 a.m.  Like I said yesterday ran really smooth, I am NOT a morning person at all, but being the first day and all, I was able to function quite well.  I was amazed at all the stuff I could get done before work, by getting up so early!  Both boys were outside early enough to have their pictures taken numerous times before the bus came.  After school yesterday, our youngest had a “football jamboree”.  Which meant we needed to get him off the bus, drive 30 minutes away, and be there by 4:15 sharp.  Yea right, didn’t happen.  His bus didn’t come until 3:50, and we sat in traffic for 15 minutes.  Anyways, he had fun and won 2 games and lost 2 games.  But we didn’t get home until 9:30 p.m. last night!  Ugh!  If you knew me you would know that I have a SCHEDULE, a strict one about homework, dinner and bedtime.  Football is kinda screwing with that.  I got the kids showered and in bed by 10pm.  I then had to fill out my homework, which consisted of filling out numerous papers, making many scribbles and mistakes, covering 2 books, and making everyone’s lunches for the morning.  Apparently there was one thing major I forgot……..my alarm!  Yep, second day of school, and I forgot the alarm!  Taylor came in this morning and said, “mom, it’s 6:30 a.m., and I have to be on the bus in 12 minutes.”  “OH S—!!!! @#!@#&* etc, etc”  But he made it, the bus came, and he tried to run out the door without sneakers!  I had to grab him, and stop him…. he did argue with me that he had to make the bus, but I convinced him he had to wear shoes to school.  Luckily the bus has to turn around, so he was able to run to the neighbor’s bus stop.  So, I’m hoping that next week when we try this all again, I will not forget my alarm again!!  Did I mention that I ramble on and on????~Stacy
