You Scared the Crap Out of Me!
No, that’s not a picture of either of my boys, it’s a picture of Damian from The Omen. The picture just goes with the story. So, last night I was on the phone with Elle, from probably 8:30 pm to 12:15am. I know what you’re thinking, “wow, those girls have a wicked awesome night life!” See, my boys and my husband go to bed by 8:30 or 9:00 pm at the latest, so I am basically by myself for the whole night. At about 11:30 pm I decided I should start getting everything ready for the morning. Get the coffee set, put drinks in the refrigerator, etc. I was halfway through the routine when I turned around and gasped! Now, I mean GASPED, really big, really loudly! And Elle is on the phone yelling, “what? what is it? a spider?” No, not a spider, it was my oldest son! He was standing in the corner of the kitchen just staring at me. Talk about spooky! His hair was messed up from sleeping, he had dark circles under his eyes, and just this blank look on his face. The thing is he had to walk downstairs from his bedroom, through the living room and into the kitchen. Our stairs are very creaky, and we have wood floors that also creak. But he didn’t make one noise! I yelled, scared t“holy crap Taylor, you scared the crap out of me!!!!” Then Elle, Taylor and I started laughing so hard, I really couldn’t stop. It was funny, he scared me so bad, and Elle could hear the terror in my voice! She couldn’t imagine what I had seen! I think I have some new grey hairs today because of him. He has always scared me though, when he was a toddler he’d come into our room in the middle of the night when he had a bad dream, and just stand with his face inches away from mine! I would wake up because I could feel someone watching me, and be scared. I’d ask him, “why didn’t you just try to wake me up instead of staring at me so closely?” and he’d answer, “I didn’t want to bother you.” That’s still his answer today, “well you were on the phone, and you told me not to interrupt you when you’re on the phone, so I just stood there.” Of course, now he listens. I personally think he does it on purpose because he finds it funny to scare the crap out of me.
