Can I Get A Little Roadkill with My Kung Pao Chicken?
This morning I saw a news report that the Red Flower Chinese Restaurant in Kentucky was caught bringing in roadkill to serve to their unsuspecting patrons. What the Hell???!! Apparently a customer saw some of the employees trying to sneak in a dead deer and called the authorities. Not surprisingly they have been shut down by the local board of health. Personally, I really don’t want to be served roadkill deer ever but a lot of people don’t mind. When I worked overnight dispatch at our local police department there was a group of guys that listened to their police scanners religiously, waiting for the moment when I would dispatch a cruiser to the scene of “motor vehicle vs deer”. The law was that if you hit and killed a deer in an accident then you can have that deer. Most people were a little squeamish about putting a bloody deer carcass in the back of their SUV, who knew? Blood is a bitch to get out of leather. That’s what the roadkill ghouls were counting on. As soon as it went over the scanner they were on the phone staking their claim. It was loads of fun fielding calls from the roadkill ghouls, the 911 calls from all the good samaritans reporting the accident, dispatching the officers, monitoring the radio and sometimes dispatching the ambulance, but hey, as long as they got their dead deer. What the Hell??!!
One of our favorite shows is Grimm but there are a couple things that are annoying me. One is the whole Juliet has amnesia and can’t remember Nick storyline. It’s totally annoying and is just a distraction. Enough already. Second, in the show, Juliet is a veterinarian. Fine, but what veterinarian doesn’t have at least one pet of their own? What the hell??
Wednesdays are great for Wordless and Wordful posts, but we decided to go a different route and create our own Wednesday fun. We figured what the hell. That’s how we started What The Hell Wednesday. Who are we kidding? That’s pretty much how we decide on almost everything.
