I'm Too Old for This ——!

Yep, that’s me on the “Tornado”, or as I would like to call it, the “Puke Machine”.  My DH & I took the kids to the fair a few weekends ago.  It was a beautiful day, warm, sunny, just a perfect fall day.  I realized on that day that I am old.  Officially, old.  Old, meaning that I cannot go on any ride (including the Merry Go Round) without taking Dramamean.  Like the spelling of that one??  That’s how I spell it, sorry, I’ve lost the ability to spell as I’ve gotten older too.  Just ask Elle, who spell checks and corrects my grammar on my posts.  🙂  I used to go on ALL the crazy rides, over and over again when I was younger.  A favorite of mine….The Zipper!  Now…… yea right, as if!  I ended up taking another “dramamean” when I got off of the “Tornado”.  I can’t even ride on an elevator without getting that “eck” feeling that my stomach is up in my mouth!  WTH!  When did I become old and have motion sickness???  Apparently I am also now afraid of heights!  Yep, never have been, but when we all went on the big Ferris wheel, I was holding on for dear life!  My DH asked me, “are you ok?”, “um, yea, why?”, “because you’re holding on so tight and you’re not moving”  “oh, that, NBD!”  That’s sooo gonna mess with my “Amazing Race Adventure” with Elle!

Also, I’ve become scared of “CARNYS!”  Not sure if that’s how you spell that one either.  But it’s the scary guys that run the rides at traveling carnivals/fairs.  I can remember being a teenager and thinking some of them were cute.  Elle says that the scary guys are actually the guys that were once cute, but have aged really badly by living the hard life of a “carny”.  I swear at least 3 of them are on a poster at a Post Office somewhere.  I’m sure half of them have warrants.  And the worst the ride, the more dangerous the “Carny” looked.  I mean there was an old guy running the swings, but over on the ride that took 5 tickets and went upside down was a guy that looked like he probably killed at least 3 people!  He had tattoos on his head and neck!  And I’m not prejudice of tattoos, my DH has numerous ones, just not on his head and neck!

The highlight of the day for our 8 yr old son was a picture he took of a cow’s butt!  For our 10 yr old, it was the ride that took 5 tickets.  All in all a good day at the fair.
