Aloha Friday

Friday is the day that Hawaiians take it easy and get ready for the weekend. So in that spirit we’re asking a simple question. Head on over to An Island Lifefor more Aloha Friday fun and to sign Mr. Linky if you’re playing.

High school was a long time ago, but the scars do seem to linger. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to navigate those high school years with the knowledge that you possess today? The teachers wouldn’t be so intimidating and the popular girls would just be minor annoyances.  Which leads us to our question;

Were you ever made fun of?

and

Why?

Elle

Growing up we had a last name that was tailor made for teasing. To this very day, I’ve never, ever met anyone with the same last name and probably never will. Really, it was irresistible to my classmates and even some really sucky teachers. Also, my friends in school used to make fun of me for being such a neat eater.  Because I only used one napkin and didn’t spill food all over the table and myself, it was reason enough to ridicule me.

Stacy

Well Elle mentioned our last name, and yes, it was difficult having it.  Actually if you put my married name with my maiden name, it sounds even worse!!  Back to the point though, growing up I was very skinny and I was called names like, stick, pole, anorexic, and my all time favorite, “carpenters dream”.  Aw the joys of growing up.
